Whales Rendezvous

Whales Rendezvous is a marvelous place with Dian and Joe at the helm. We spent Christmas in the Sea Rose suite and couldn't have enjoyed it more. We had no idea that the King Tide would be in full force and fabulous to watch with the waves rolling in and hitting the rocks, sitting in our chairs looking out at the storm. There was nothing more we could have asked for with a delightful antique filled room supplied with everything! They have put together a book which is extremely helpful in finding restaurants or things to do! Dian and Joe even made Christmas Day reservations for us at Georgie's in Newport which was phenomenal!! The bathroom with its shower for two and even a window looking out so you could watch the ocean while showering was perfect! We really can't say enough good things about Dian and Joe. They are wonderful folks, and we feel very fortunate to have left as friends. Thank you, Dian and Joe!

We had such a wonderful stay at Whale Rendavous. The room was precious with everything you could need! They really go beyond with all the little touches! The garden and the deck were beautiful and the views are absolutely amazing!! I hated to leave. And Joe and Dian are the best hosts and such nice people!

What an amazing place. The room and deck and garden where all private. The garden is beautiful. The views where incredible. We saw a lot of whales. Every detail you would need were in the room: blankets for outside, binoculars, s'mores for the nightly fire(private) snacks, plates, silverware etc. We ate dinner, lunch and breakfast outside to enjoy the view and the sound of the waves. The rooms are such that you don't have to close your shades for privacy. The windows inside are very large so you can see the ocean from your bed! Joe and Dian are delightful hosts. We have stayed many places in the past and this is one of our top 5 places to stay. We will definitely be back.

We spent three nights at Whale’s Rendezvous had a delightful time. Dian and Joe are very thoughtful and provided everything we needed and more. The suite is comfortable and beautifully decorated with an amazing view. The location and suite both exceeded our expectations. We were able to walk to great restaurants, the Whale Center and the harbor. There was “weather” on one of our days and that only enhanced our experience. We look forward to a longer stay on and a whale-watching outing on our next trip to Oregon. Many thanks to Dian and Joe for being such generous hosts.

Everything about this place was wonderful. The private deck looking out over the rocky beach. The sound of the waves at night. The gorgeous shower. Step out the front door and you are on the main street with plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from. Hiking the rock jetty from which you can see the Whale Rendezvous Inn. Whale boat tours but you can see the whales right from the comfort of your suite or porch. Just a beautiful place and delightful owners.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Whales Rendezvous! The views were absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Sea Rose Suite, and at times, it seemed as if we would be swallowed up by the crashing waves; they were so close! We enjoyed the fire pit and the smores that were included in our stay. The room is cozy and relaxing, and the deck is just lovely. Probably my favorite part, however, were the owners, Joe and Dian. We fell in love with them at hello, and we sat and talked with them for hours! When we left to go explore the area, I almost slipped and told them I loved them, because they just felt like family, like we've known them forever! It is not even a question--we will be back.

We had an absolute blast staying here. Dian and Joe are great hosts, and were soooooo welcoming. The views are amazing, and the advertisements for the place don't do it justice. We loved seeing the whales from our private deck and even from inside while sitting in the living room area. We even got a couple visits from a family of raccoons who wanted to see what we were up to. The surrounding area of restaurants and shops were fun to visit, and Joe and Dian were able to give us several recommendations of where to get the best meals and other services. Overall, we would absolutely recommend the Whales Rendezvous as a perfect getaway for a couple looking to spend some time together.

We spent 4 glorious days at the Whales Rendezvous in mid November, 2020. We were warmly welcomed by our Inn Keepers- Dian and Joe. The memorable apartment hung out over the Pacific Ocean and was so comfortable - that we hesitated to leave our cozy 'room with a view'. We had sunshine, gale winds, hail storms, king tides and rain throughout the course of our 4 day visit- and loved every minute of our time on this incredibly beautiful stretch of the Oregon Coast. There is simply no reason to go any further south than historic Newport (10 miles) or father north than the incredible beaches of Lincoln City (10 miles). Staying close to home in Depoe Bay was quite incredible, as well. There were several great places to eat all within 15 minutes of Whales Rendezvous and we didn't eat anywhere that we wouldn't highly recommend or try again. If you are looking to take in the Central Oregon Coast- look no further than the Whales Rendezvous. But don't delay because I am sure that their two really lovely apartments book up quickly.
